A refined, elegant, high-backed chair, the Edward Wing Chair, like the regular Edward chair, occupies a very small footprint yet provides excellent seating comfort. The solid mahogany tapered legs can be polished to any of our standard colours, and each sits on a brass castor with a ferrule detail. The seat and back are hand sprung with traditional English coil springs which are topped off with layers of hair, fibre, cotton wadding and a wool lining below the top fabric. A bolster cushion is provided for looks - the chair is very comfortable with or without it! An ideal piece for corridors, inglenooks and alcoves, libraries and reception areas as well as the lounge or study.
The solid beech and ash frame can have legs made from species other than the standard mahogany, and it's also possible to make the chair without castors (whilst maintaining the seat height) if a simpler and plainer look is preferred. The seat cushion is filled with down and feather as standard, but as you would expect, this can be altered for other fillings as required.
